Oh My Golly

Lately I've been wearing a lot of black with pops of color mixed in. This isn't usually because I don't know what else to pair with my silly colored accessories, but for today's outfit, that was totally the case. What am I really expected to do with bright red and green tights?

I've finished my Christmas shopping, minus one bright idea I had, and now I'm off to go wrap some things before anyone comes home and sees my gifts!!

So I wore jeans again, and I feel like I should mention... Whenever I wear jeans, people get excited, like "Wow, you're not wearing a dress for once!?" And sometimes my boyfriend tells me it's ok to dress casual, as if I feel obligated to wear dresses to impress people. I don't. I feel more comfortable in dresses and am actually rather offended when people suggest I shouldn't have to wear them all the time.

I still feel yucky in jeans, but I'm dressed for the 10 feet of snow outside, fluffy boots and all! Add in a bow around my neck and some festive sequins and I'm good to go.

Katy Perry Part One

Aside from being told a couple times over the summer that I was dressed like her. I really love Katy Perry. Prepare for a gratuitous photo post and lots of girl-gushing. I am borderline fanatical about Katy Perry's style. I know, it's not for everyone, but it's definitely for me and I love everything about it.

I love all of her rompers... And her strawberry ring. I read somewhere once that Katy loves "anything fruit," which is why I was especially happy when I thrifted a pair of watermelon earrings. (But I'm saving those for summer.)

Twinkle Toes

We're in the midst of a major snow storm right about now and I'm trapped in the house. That doesn't mean I can't have fun with an umbrella in the basement, right?

This is the first thing I've ever bought from Zara. Because they only recently put one in my mall.

This was how I felt about my hair situation. I couldn't take my bangs in my face any more.

I don't think my luck could get any worse, so the umbrella indoors thing doesn't worry me.

Untamed Menagerie

A little bit ago, I wore one of my pieces from an Etsy shop called Untamed Menagerie. This mother-daughter team crafts silhouette pendants and jewelry from acrylic. The jewelry ranges from classic to gothic to just plain cute. And they're such sweet girls. I own two pieces so far.

I bought my first necklace, the "Curiouser" necklace after having stumbled upon their shop in an Alice and Wonderland themed search. Less than a week after receiving it, I decided I wanted another piece, so I contacted them and they were kind enough to reserve me a listing of a pendant that I didn't see in stock. Having received excellent customer service both times, I don't even need to say it, but I love their stuff!

Basement-Dwelling Style Freak

Since everyone else has done it and I finally acquired a gold chain necklace of epic proportions last week (though it's still very tame, in comparison to the inspiration for it)... Today's outfit is my take on a marriage of the fall ready-to-wear collections by Givenchy and Ann Demeulemeester.

I also finally got that haircut I've been whining about. The change in my hair is barely noticeable. The stylist left my bangs in a very sad state, so I came home after and cut them myself, which happen to be the only change you can actually see. I just need to get over it and start cutting the rest of my hair myself.

My Happy Feet

A little bit more plaid today. I kind of dig my dress, but I really dig my vintage cowboy boots. I got them on eBay for $10.49. I originally was looking for red cowboy boots, but then I thought the color of these was to die for. These still pinch my toes a tiny bit when I wear them, but I'm breaking them in quite nicely, so they were worth it. My bag and brooch were thrifted, too.

It was too dark in my living room, so I got out of there fast. Maybe next time!



What's weird is the color of my bag and the color of my boots are really similar in plain light, but my flash makes my bag look a little icky. Poor bag.





Got this for $6 at a thrift store. It's real leather and needed a little restoring (which still didn't take out all the stains), but it's a cool little bag.
